ARLEE - The hot and dry weather, combined with gust winds and a Red Flag warning, are making for very difficult firefighting efforts north of Arlee.
A wildfire that broke out around 2:15 p.m. on Saturday has already scorched an estimated 700 acres, and some residents have been evacuated along Jocko Valley Road.
Fire officials say that single engine planes and a heavy air tanker are working furiously to try and slow the flames, while a Hotshot crew is already on the ground.
There's no word yet on what sparked the blaze, which is burning on the Pistol Creek side of Jocko Valley Road, and more firefighters are being called to the scene.
The Seeley Lake Ranger District will be closing the USFS portion of Jocko Road for public safety.
We'll have more on this developing story as information becomes available.
