HELENA - A warrant has been issued for the arrest a man wanted for questioning in the disappearance of a missing Helena woman.

James Alexander Lee, 21, of Helena, failed to show up in court on Thursday morning for an initial appearance on previous charges of intimidation and unlawful restraint. Lee was out on bond, but wasn't supposed to leave the county.

Lee is also wanted for questioning regarding the disappearance of Angelica Melody Gray, the Helena woman who was reported missing last week.

On Monday night, authorities received information that Lee was traveling with Gray in California. Lee was stopped in California, but Angelica wasn't with him.

"Mr. Lee driving the vehicle had indicated that Angelica Gray had been with him and he had just dropped her off on Broadway and Stockton streets outside of Madera," Helena Police Chief McGee said at the time.

Madera is a small town about 25 miles north of Fresno in central California.

"The next step right now is to talk to Mr. Lee down there if we can get in touch with him and find out what's going on with him because he's the last one we know that was with her. And like I say, she's still listed, so hopefully maybe some law enforcement agency, if she is in California, will run across her and make contact with us," McGee said on Thursday.

Gray was reported missing from her temporary home at the Helena YWCA on Dec. 11. She left behind her two young children and has not been heard from since.
