Athlete of the Week: Bozeman High's Amy Davis

BOZEMAN - Our outstanding athlete this week takes us over to the AA high school basketball state runners-up from last season.

"Amy does a lot of things. She can shoot the three-ball; she showed that in the summer. She's an inside player. She's a rebounder. She's long. She's athletic. She's pretty good with the ball going to the hoop. So she's really a versatile player for us," Bozeman head coach Brad Rustan said.

She can also score...a lot. Amy is a senior at Bozeman High School who led the Hawks to a great first win of the season over Helena this past weekend. She had 19 points, including six of seven shooting at the free throw line along with one three-pointer.

While she's all business on the court, she takes time to have a little fun too.

"Occasionally, she's a goof ball. And I mean that in the best way. She's funny, she likes to have fun. She is a good student. I think she thinks she's funny, but she definitely is sometimes. She's kind of a jokester. And I like that part of her," Rustan said.

"He definitely is hard working and he pushes you, but he's also always there for you to talk and stuff," Amy said.

Amy plans to attend Idaho State University and earn a degree in sports psychology.
