BILLINGS - Shortly after 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Burlington Elementary went into lockdown for 15 minutes.
According to Superintendent Terry Bouck, Billings Police were attempting to arrest a man within the area and as a precautionary measure, students were sent inside from recess and the school was locked down.
Calls were made to parents saying students were safe inside. A message was also posted on the district's website alerting parents.
The website now reads; "Tuesday, September 17, 2013, 12:50 p.m. - The Billings Police Department has given the "all clear" at the Burlington Elementary School. They have located and apprehended the suspect. All students and staff are safe, and school has resumed as normal. Dismissal will be at the normal time."
