BILLINGS - A teacher at Billings West High School has been placed on paid administrative leave for inappropriate computer use.
Scott Nichols, a physical education teacher as West, has been under investigation for the allegations, Billings Public Schools Superintendent Terry Bouck said. Nichols also coaches girls basketball at West and track and field at Riverside Middle School.
Bouck met with Billings Police Chief Rich St. John Wednesday morning. The chief informed the superintendent that the director of task force operations and the Montana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force have been investigating Nichols. The FBI and the other agencies have been working on the alleged issues involving inappropriate use of the computer and internet, according to Bouck.
Bouck says the district secured the computers used by Nichols and closed his ability to used the school district's internet. ?The superintendent sent an email to parents at Riverside and West.?Bouck says he will meet with Nichols on Thursday.
