KALISPELL - A joke gone wrong had officers searching a Kalispell mall for a bomb on Christmas Eve.
The Kalispell Police Department was contacted by a woman who had seen someone post on Facebook that a pipe bomb was going to explode in a Kalispell Center Mall bathroom.
KPD, along with mall security, searched the mall around 4:30 p.m. but never found anything.
When officers finally contacted the former Kalispell resident who had posted the "bomb threat" on Facebook, he said it was a joke between him and his friends and had meant no harm.
Police are still investigating the circumstances in which the message was posted, and how visible to the public it was.
No charges have been filed at this time.
