BOZEMAN - Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport was the busiest airport in Montana over the past year.
Between June 1, 2012 through May 31, 2013, 879,221 passengers went through the airport's terminal, making it busier than any other airport in Montana during that time period.
In the past three years, passenger traffic has increased by 28% at BZN, according to the airport, which attributes much of the increase to non-stop service to Portland, OR, Los Angeles, Phoenix-Mesa and New York/Newark.
At this rate, BZN is on pace to have more passengers than any other airport in Montana for the 2013 calendar year, according to Airport Director Brian Sprenger. Sprenger expects BZN to surpass Billings Logan International Airport for total passengers in and out of the airport.
