Turning a hospital stay into a positive experience is not an easy task.
Healthgrades.com, an online source that connects patients to hospitals, identified 455 hospitals that figured out a way to do just that and Bozeman's own made the cut.
Bozeman Deaconess Hospital has been recognized as one of the best hospitals in the nation for making and keeping their patients happy and staff members say that's no surprise.
"You can't get an award like this if you don't have good people and we have excellent physicians, nursing staff and all of the other staff that work at the hospital." Said Chief Nursing Officer Vickie Groeneweg.
Ginger Bokma, an RN in the family birth center says she treats every patient as if they are family and the hospital is constantly doing things to improve quality.
"We're constantly doing things to up our standard of care to make sure we're meeting higher standards to keep our patients safe. We started doing bedside reporting. We also started a protocol a few years back called Condition H, if the patient feels their needs are not being met, they can call." Said Bokma.
Bozeman Deaconess is the only hospital in the state to receive the Outstanding Patient Experience Award and is ranked among the top 15 percent in the nation for patient experience.
