BOZEMAN - A man accused of robbing a Bozeman pharmacy then leading police on a chase through town Thursday afternoon will appear in court this morning.
Benjamin Reid Bullock, 27, of Belgrade is charged with robbery. He is scheduled to appear in Gallatin County Justice Court this morning.
Bullock was arrested at gunpoint Thursday afternoon at the Town Pump along North 19th Avenue. He is accused of robbing the Price Rite Drug on North 7th Avenue then fleeing.
According to court documents, a suspicious man in the parking lot entered Price Rite Drug, pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the clerks and demanded cash and all of their Dilotin. The man reportedly pulled a T-shirt up over his face. The employees said they gave him a large amount of Hydromorphone pills and cash, and he left.
According to court documents, police were called to Price Rite Drug for a man who was parked in the parking lot, "ranting and raving" on his phone. Police responded and tried to make contact with the man who was wearing a "ski type hat," and that's when he reportedly put his vehicle in reverse and drove off. The man reportedly matched the description of the suspect who had just been involved in the robbery.
Police followed the vehicle, which turned into the Town Pump on Baxter Lane and parked in the lot. The driver exited the vehicle and reportedly refused police orders to get on the ground then retrieved a pill bottle from a computer bag he was carrying, opened the pill bottle and emptied some of the pills into his mouth. A police officer pushed the man to the ground and put him in handcuffs.
Police searched the man and reportedly found an open bottle of Hydromorphone, Ibuprofen, $266 cash and other items.
Bullock was taken to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital before being transported to the Gallatin County Detention Center.
