A Bozeman man is being held at the Gallatin County Detention Center after allegedly assaulting a police officer Wednesday night.
James Sean Jimenez, 35, was arrested after grabbing a Bozeman police officer in the groin during a traffic stop.
Jimenez was pulled over after law enforcement had been informed of a possible drunk driver leaving McDonalds on West Main Street.
During the stop, Jimenez refused to take his hands out of his jacket's pockets after being told to do so by officers. Jimenez became verbally confrontational with the officers and refused to let them search him.
According to court documents, officers then escorted Jimenez to the ground. That's when he was able to free an arm and grab one of the officers.
After being handcuffed Jimenez tried to spit on the officers, although he did not hit any of the police.
Jimenez is charged with assault on a peace officer and is being held without bond.
