BSB health dept waiting on pertussis tests, 8 from last week are negative

BUTTE - Butte Silver Bow Health Department staff is waiting for test results of several Butte High School students that have were tested for pertussis, or whooping cough.

There have been two confirmed cases of pertussis at Butte High School. But, the test results of eight students that came into contact with the ill classmates came back negative.

The health department is waiting to hear the results on several tests that were sent to the state lab on Friday.

Those results may not be available until Tuesday.
