Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement is trying to keep everyone indoors while the weather is harsh outside.
"Keep in mind that if you are out in this cold for any length of time hypothermia and frostbite are huge issues, so it never hurts to call our department and get the help you need," said Sheriff Ed Lester.
Lester is concerned with the transient population. Officers patrolling they will be keeping an eye out for individuals who need assistance.
The Butte Rescue Mission has vowed to make room for anyone who needs shelter. Officials urge the public to bring a fully charged cell phone when traveling in the cold weather.
