A Butte man is charged with three counts of felony assault after pointing a rifle at a Town Pump Convenience Store clerk.
James Reiken, age 46, was arrested Saturday, according to Butte Law Enforcement. Reiken walked into the Town Pump on Elizabeth Warren and Harrison just after midnight.
A gas station clerk asked Reiken to leave the store. Reiken responded by retrieving a rifle from his vehicle. Reiken brought the rifle inside and pointed it at the clerk. The clerk and a customer were able to disarm Reiken and hold him until authorities arrived. Law enforcement said the rifle was loaded.
Reiken appeared in Butte Justice Court Monday afternoon. Reiken's bond is set at $150,000.
