Reporter Katy Harris has useful information to have a safe
"This time of year police departments across the country and state of Montana are beefing up patrols to look for underage drinkers, people that are driving under the influence and people that aren't wearing their seat belts," says Butte-Silver Bow Law Enforcement Department Sergeant Jimm Kilmer.
You can expect to see more law enforcement on Butte streets from now until the 1st of the year.">
"It's a given that if we can stop those people from driving under the influence, we can save lives," adds Kilmer.
He says if you're having a holiday party try to designate a driver to pick up and drop off family and friends.
If you're the one going to someone's house plan on staying the night.
Make sure you're host knows that of course.
There is also Mining City Taxi if you need a ride home.
Kilmer says, "People across Montana are paying attention to people driving under the influence and enforcement is up. People are starting to be more responsible with their alcohol use. It's slow progress but it is progress."
You can reach Mining City Taxi at 723-6511.
