Cats and Griz named All Americans

While the season may not have ended the way they would have liked it to, Montana State continues to receive accolades on the national level

Jody Owens and Caleb Schreibeis were named First Team All-Americans by The Sports Network today. Jody, the senior linebacker, was named the Big Sky Conference Defensive MVP this year while leading the Bobcats during the regular season with 82 tackles along with 3 sacks. This is the second year in a row he has been tabbed with All-American status, being named to the 2nd team in 2011.

Caleb Schreibeis was a monster on the line for the Cats this season as he led the nation in forced fumbles and was also 4th in the country in sacks. The Billings native wraps up his career with the winningest senior class in Montana State history.

For the Griz, Jordan Tripp is a second team selection who led Montana with with 95 tackles along with 9 and a half tackles for loss. And efensive lineman Zach Wagenmann was tabbed a third team selection. The Missoula native led the Griz with 11 and a half sacks on the year.

The Big Sky Conference had the most selections out of any FCS conference in the country with 16.
