Central Valley Fire Department's Board of Trustees voted Tuesday night to restructure its employees.

The board of five unanimously adopted the recommendations of Chief Ron Lindroth to get rid of the position of assistant chief of human relations, a position held by Brian Crandell.

Board trustee Gil Moore said the board felt the organization was top heavy in management.

The money will go to hire two new firefighters to help staff the main station 24 hours a day, every day of the year.

We have calls in to Brian Crandell and one of his attorneys for comment.
