There was an amazing performance at the Class C State golf tournament in Ennis as Lone Peak sophomore, Tate Tatom, the defending State Champion turned in an even par 72 in a wind storm to go with Tuesday's 74, giving him an 18 stroke victory in the individual Championship. In addition, Tatom led his Lone Peak team to the Boys Title by seven strokes over Chinook. Manhattan Christian Senior Michael Daines tied for second along with Chinook's Jake Diemert and Lane Seymour.
At the Class B tournament in Big Fork, Townsend's girls team, led by Bailey Dexter won the title by 13 strokes over Loyola of Missoula. Dexter combined Tuesday's 83 with Wednesday's 78 to finish in third place behind Loyola's Maggie Crippen, and her sister Sadie. For the boys, Keagan Lindsoe from Three Forks placed sixth behind three time State Champion, Tom Swanson of Loyola who won the tournament by 11 strokes.
