COLUMBIA FALLS - A Columbia Falls company that specializes in advanced mobile communications equipment is facing some solid work in the future, after being awarded a five-year government contract this week that's worth millions of dollars.
Nomad Global Communications Solutions announced this week it's been awarded the contract to provide equipment to the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support, or DLA, which is division of the Department of Defense.
The agreement calls on Noman GCS to deliver specialized emergency vehicles to the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies through 2018.
Company officials say the deal will expand Nomad's reach into the DOD market and is another "key step" to their plans for growth and expansion.
Nomad designs, engineers and manufactures all of it's advanced trucks and mobile units, many with satellite capability in the Flathead. In addition to military and law enforcement, it's produced units for the energy, mining and medical industries.
