OLNEY - Girl Scouts of Montana and Wyoming is planning on terminating its lease to a property that houses a Flathead Girl Scouts camp in a few weeks.
The property became too expensive after a re-appraisal vastly increased the rent. But there's still a chance Camp Westana could be saved, and it's given hope to a Columbia Falls Girl Scouts troop.
Troop 3395 has already started fundraising for a permanent easement on the land. They're trying to raise $500,000 by next week, in which time they will meet with the Girl Scout council and ask them to extend the lease.
About $1,000 has been raised in personal donations. Troop leaders say it's an uphill battle, but not impossible. Click here to learn more or donate.
