COLUMBUS - According to neighbors, a controlled burn got out of hand Sunday afternoon near Columbus. The fire started out as a controlled burn around 1:00 p.m., but was reported to have grown out of hand by 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.

The fire, which burned an area five miles in on Countryman Road was reportedly extinguished around 4:45pm.

The fire did threaten one structure but did not cause damage and appeared to get out of hand due to the windy conditions.
