KALISPELL - A helicopter used for search and rescue was recently recovered off of Mount Aneas after an April 25 crash landing.
Jordan White, a spokesperson for Two Bear Management who owns the helicopter, says his company is awaiting examination and insurance inspections to determine whether or not the helicopter can be saved or must be replaced.
"We worked in cooperation with the Forest Service, closely with them, to make sure we were able to recover the aircraft. The great news that came with that was there was no spillage, no contamination, to a very sensitive ecosystem in the Jewel Basin that's important to all of us. We were able to recover the aircraft, in one slingload with a large aircraft out of Bozeman," White explained.
The helicopter was carrying two Flathead County employees and pilot Jason Johnson. None of those onboard the aircraft were seriously hurt when it went down.
