MISSOULA - A Sunday morning house fire caused extensive damage to a an empty home in the Rattlesnake.
Missoula City Fire Assistant Chief Jeff Brandt says crews were called to 510 Lolo Street just before 10:30 a.m., and arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the single story structure.
Crews had to force the front and rear doors of the structure and open up the roof, but the blaze was quickly brought under control.
A pair fire inspectors were at the scene Sunday afternoon trying to determine what sparked the blaze, which caused damages estimated to be over $65,000.
The Missoula Police Department, Missoula Emergency Services, NorthWestern Energy and Mountain Water Co. all also responded to the scene.
