Daines given committee appointments in DC

HELENA - U.S. Representative Elect Steve Daines (R-MT) has received his committee appointments and will be serving on the Transportation & Infrastructure, Homeland Security and Natural Resources committees.
The Transportation Committee oversees all modes of transportation and the safety of the nation's water supply. The Committee on Homeland Security works to protect the nation from terrorist threats. And the Natural Resources Committee monitors energy production, fisheries and wildlife and public lands.
Daines says his Natural Resources appointment is critical to creating jobs.
"Montana is called the Treasure State for a reason because of our abundance of natural energy resources," Daines said. "I will fight for an all-inclusive, and market based energy policy that removes barriers to developing our natural resources in Montana and across America."
