We've passed the shortest day of sunlight, which was Friday, December 21st and now we will begin to see more sun.
The National Weather Service in Missoula says we have reached the bottom of the hill.
Now the Northern Hemisphere will begin to tilt towards the sun.
This will slowly increase the time of daylight.
It should also average out temperatures.
Friday was also the beginning of Winter Solstice which began at exactly 4:12 am.
