DNA experts testified in the murder trial of a well-known Butte man.
62-year-old Robert "Chicago Bob" Bajzer was found stabbed to death on a Park Street sidewalk in February 2011.
DNA evidence has reportedly linked Jeremy Mata to the murder.
Thursday was the third day of Mata's jury trial.
DNA was collected from a knife and hat found close to the crime scene.
A DNA expert from the Montana State Crime Lab in Missoula took the stand and explained the process of collecting DNA from the hat that reportedly links Mata to the murder.
DNA specialist Joe Pasternak told the jury, "I did a similar swabbing of one of the large stains and I also collected the stain as well for subsequent DNA analysis for that."
Mata was arrested nearly one year after Bajzer's murder.
The trial is expected to continue through Friday.
