ANACONDA - An ex-prison guard has been sentenced for attempting to rob an Anaconda bank last fall.
James Ramsey was sentenced to 10 years in the Montana Department of Corrections with seven years suspended. He will be subject to all the rules and regulations of the Adult Probation and Parole Bureau with enrolled in the DOC.
On Sept. 21, Ramsey walked into the Anaconda Wells Fargo Bank and passed a note to a teller asking for $10,000.
He was arrested on the spot.
The courts goal was to limit incarceration and provide lengthy supervision and give Ramsey a chance to get his feet on the ground.
If Ramsey breaks any of the terms of his sentence, his suspended sentence could be revoked.
