Former Bob Ward and Sons employee charged with felony theft

A former Bob Ward and Sons employee will have to pay back the $78,000 worth of merchandise he stole in 2011, according to the Butte-Silver Bow County Attorney's Office.

Richard Young, age 45, allegedly took items beginning May through October of 2011. Young was selling the items he stole online. A fellow employee reported the theft to law enforcement.

Young was charged with felony theft in December 2011, according to the county attorney's office. On Thursday, Young pled guilty to the charge. Young was sentenced to eight years at the Department of Corrections with seven years suspended.
