BOZEMAN - During their commission meeting earlier today, Gallatin County commissioners approved the purchase of a $2 million bond for their part in the new I-90 interchange for east Belgrade.

Three local governments have come together to help finance this $37 million project, including $2 million from Gallatin County, $2 million from the City of Belgrade and $3 million from the Airport Authority at Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport. The remainder of the money needed for this project will come from the State of Montana and the federal government.

Commissioners today were able to hear the interest rate they were being charged for the bond. For the 10-year bond, the average interest rate will be 1.88%.

Also during today's meeting, commissioners approved a resolution setting a daily rate to be charged for housing out of county inmates at the Gallatin County Detention Center. That amount is $119.22. This amount will take effect Jan. 1 and will apply to any inmate from counties that don't currently have a contract with Gallatin County.

Today's meeting was the last meeting of 2012 for the commission.
