GREAT FALLS - Molly, the stray dog who spent her summer wandering the Anaconda Hills Golf Course, has found a permanent and safe home in Cascade County.

After seeing the story of the elusive dog on KRTV, Mike Compton and his wife decided that Molly would be a perfect fit for them.

The Comptons have a history of rescuing dogs, mostly bull mastiffs.

A year and a half ago, their most recent rescue dog was killed in a car accident.

The Comptons felt now was a good time for a new pet, and Molly seemed to be the perfect fit.

"I think they bring a calming effect into the home, it gets me out for exercise, and you look at a dog like this who doesn't have a mean bone in their body and I think they just need a second chance," Mike said.

Mike says Molly is adapting well, but still a bit timid.
She is still getting her daily dose of cheeseburgers, but the Comptons are slowly weaning her off of them as she gets more used to dog food.
