As part of our special coverage from the Montana Economic Development Summit in Butte, here are some highlights from some of the biggest names in U.S. business.
Senator Max Baucus welcomed more than 3,500 people to Montana Tech.
Small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs filled the auditorium waiting for some of the biggest names in business to take the stage.
"A big round of applause for Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt," Baucus said, welcoming the high-profile speaker.
Schmidt said businesses don't have to relocate to bigger markets to succeed.
"There are plenty of places and smart people everywhere and there are lots of them in Montana, because I know them," Schmidt said. "There is every reason to believe that through the meet ups and developers conferences, that you can build a vibrant community here that is really exciting for programmers."
Facebook's Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg sat down with Senator Baucus to talk about the keys to a successful business.
"When you think about economic growth and the Summit, you also have to think about equality for women," she said.
Sandberg said Montana businesses will be more successful if more women take leadership roles.
She also said modern technology and social media can help businesses increase their reach.
"It used to be that if you wanted to say something to the world in the Senate, a CEO of a company, own a local TV station, be famous, have your 15 minutes, now every single person has a voice," Sandberg said.
Also speaking before a crowded room, was Elon Musk the CEO of SpaceX - a developer of rockets.
"I think it's always important to remember that when you are creating a company, there are very dark times and it's about getting through those dark times," Musk said.
Baucus hopes this impressive list of panelists will inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs to take risks and be successful.
