GREAT FALLS - A toddler has been airlifted to a Seattle hospital after sustaining serious internal injuries, and two people are facing criminal endangerment charges.

Two people have been taken into custody.

Riley James Charlo-Whitworth has been charged with aggravated assault, criminal endangerment, tampering with physical evidence, and assault on a minor.

Alexis Paul has been charged with criminal endangerment.

Great Falls police responded to the Villa Vista Apartments on 3rd Street NW at about 2:30 a.m.; investigators were still on scene as of late Saturday morning.

The nature and extent of the child's injuries has not been disclosed, but were severe enough to warrant being airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after initial treatment at Benefis hospital in Great Falls.

County Attorney John Parker tells us that despite the severity of the child's injuries, the 23-month old boy is expected to survive.

We will report on updates as they become available.
