GREAT FALLS - Nicholas James Holk has been charged with felony assault on a minor after allegedly punching his son in the foot, causing a fracture.
Court documents state that Holk and his five-year old son were "rough-housing" on Wednesday, September 18th, when the child reportedly licked his father's arm.
Holk then apparently became angry and punched the child's foot.
The child's mother took the boy to the emergency department at Benefis hospital, where he was diagnosed with a fractured foot.
When questioned by police, Holk said that he was wrestling and tickling his son, and said that he became frustrated when the boy licked him.
Holk said that did push the boy away, but did not recall hitting him.
Prosecutors have requested that bail be set at $30,000.
