GREAT FALLS - Peter Sargent of Great Falls made his initial appearance in court on Thursday on charges of sexual assault and sexual intercourse without consent.
According to court documents, Sargent asked the victim to watch his fiancee's daughter.
While there, he then allegedly assaulted the woman, who then reportedly ran into the bathroom to try calling for help, but Sargent dragged her out and raped her.
The victim went to the hospital afterwards with a friend.
While en route to the hospital, Sargent reportedly followed them, cutting them off several times, before confronting and threatening the victim.
The woman sustained several injuries, some of which which court documents say were consistent with non-consensual sex.
Sargent later allegedly stated that he did it to get back at his fiancee.
Bond for Sargent was set at $75,000.
