Thomas Catt Jarvis of Great Falls, accused of sexually abusing an 8-year old boy, appeared in court on Tuesday.
Jarvis is facing two felony charges of sexual assault and sexual intercourse without consent.
Police say Jarvis sexually abused the boy while the child was at him home last fall.
Court documents state that the boy told a therapist that Jarvis had physically abused him by hitting and whipping him with a belt, biting him, and then sexually abusing him.
During an interview with Child & Family Services officials, the boy said Jarvis had sexually assaulted him multiple times a day, as well on different days.
The judge set his bail at $75,000.
Jarvis has a conviction in Cascade County for criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
