A Great Falls man is recovering from hypothermia and minor injuries after crashing into the Missouri River early Saturday morning.
The Montana Highway Patrol responded to the accident around 2:30 a.m. after 25-year-old Ricky Henderson crashed.
Troopers said Henderson passed out behind the wheel on Rainbow Dam Road, drove off a 40 foot embankment and into the Missouri River.
Henderson was able to get out of his vehicle, hike up the embankment and call 911 from a nearby residence.
MHP says he was transported to Benefis hospital for hypothermia, and is lucky to be alive.
Henderson has been charged with a DUI.
