HELENA - Jacob Andrew Mark, a 22-year old Helena man, is in jail for allegedly hitting two people with his pickup truck early Thursday.
Mark was charged with three counts of felony assault with a weapon.
If convicted he faces up to a maximum of 20 years in prison on each count.
According to reports, a 911 call was made at around 2:25 a.m. stating that two pedestrians were hit by a vehicle in the Valley Bank parking lot on Fuller Avenue.
The victims stated that the truck intentionally struck the first victim and then returned and struck that person again, and then another person.
Police later found the maroon Dodge Ram pickup truck driving down the street with Mark behind the wheel.
Reports say Mark failed a field sobriety test.
An earlier altercation at the Rialto Bar was said to be the reason for the alleged crime.
Mark remains in jail on a $50,000 bond.
The nature and extent of injuries sustained by the two people who were hit has not been released, but they are not believed to be serious.
