UPDATE: A high-speed car chase that began in Lewis & Clark County on Wednesday afternoon took law enforcement officers through three counties before ending in Flathead County.

Lewis & Clark County Sheriff's Deputies were alerted Wednesday morning that a man named Jack Saxton was headed to the Stickney Creek area to harm either his ex-girlfriend or her current boyfriend.

Saxton reportedly damaged a home in Lewis & Clark County before leading authorites on a high-speed chase through Glacier County and into Flathead County before BIA officers and Flathead County deputies deployed spike strips and arrested him.

Authorities in several Montana counties are on the alert after a report that Jack Saxton, a man from the Seeley Lake area, may have threatened violence and possibly broken into someone's home late Wednesday morning on Twisted Pines Way near Craig, between Great Falls and Helena.

Lewis & Clark County Sheriff Leo Dutton tells us that the Bureau of Indian Affairs is currently pursuing a black Toyota Tundra that Saxton is said to be driving toward Flathead County, and may be in or near Essex.

Officials believe that Sexton has a shotgun with him, but have not indicated whether or not he poses any danger to the general public.
