High Wind WARNINGS are now in effect for all of SW Montana through Monday evening.
Periods of strong and gusty winds will continue through Monday afternoon. Winds will diminish at times with the strongest winds Sunday and Monday afternoons.
SW winds 30 to 40 mph and gusts up to 65 mph is likely.
Difficult conditions for those traveling in high profile vehicles as well as outdoor activities.
Locations impacted include: Boulder, Boulder Hill, Elk Park pass, Homestake pass, Whitehall, Townsend, Big Hole pass, Chief Joseph pass, Dillon, Monida pass, Ennis, Norris Hill, Raynolds pass, Twin Bridges, Battle Ridge pass, Bozeman, Bozeman pass, Targhee pass, West Yellowstone, Bannock pass, Lost Trail pass, Butte, Georgetown Lake, Garrison, MacDonald pass and Salmon, ID.
High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts of 50 mph or greater can lead to property damage.
As of 8am Sunday morning reported winds gusts are as follows:
Three Forks 47
MacDonald Pass 43mph
Norris Hill 60mph
Georgetown Lake 41mph
Bozeman Pass 31mph
