MISSOULA - The historic Top Hat Bar and Music Venue has opened its doors after months of renovations, and several new features are taking center stage.
The grand opening featured a night of bluegrass music with three bands. The renovations added more space to the venue and now the stage can be seen from any seat.
It's not only local music that's being dished up, lunch and dinner is now served at the Top Hat, and what you won't see for a few months, but will be generating lots of buzz in the local music industry, is a music studio on the second floor.
Details are still in the works, but a portion of Top Hat sales will go towards youth music scholarships for local kids.
"The details right now with the goal to open in September, it's really a Top Hat music experience with really a focus on getting youth to experience music in alternative ways," owner Nick Cheota said.
There are some other new features coming to the Top Hat, including Mondays, Family Friendly Fridays and comedy nights.
