BILLINGS - A Billings teenager accused of murdering his great-grandmother, then fleeing town, is back in Billings Friday night.
Robert Thompson, 19, was transported from the Denver County Sheriff's Office to the Yellowstone County Detention Facility Friday.
Since his arrest, Thompson fought extradition back to Montana. But early this week he was served with a governor's warrant.
Thompson faces one charge of deliberate homicide for the death of 77-year-old Shirley Lawrence.
Her body was discovered in her south-side home on July 19.
Thompson told investigators he got angry, hit Lawrence in the back of the head, and proceeded to stab her in the chest.
Thompson allegedly removed several items from her home and fled to Colorado in her car.
