An investigation is underway into the homicide of Danny Lee Hartford, an inmate at Montana State Prison.
Hartford's body was found at about 8:10 p.m. Sunday in a cell of a housing unit in the high-security portion of the prison.
Two inmates are considered possible suspects in the death. The Montana Department of Corrections did not release their names in a new release issued Monday.
Hartford, 53, was sentenced to 30 years probation in 1997 on two counts of sexual assault in Lewis & Clark County. He violated conditions of his probation and a judge ordered him to prison in 2010.
Authorities have not released any other information at this time.
