PLAINS - The Montana Highway Patrol is looking into who was driving the car that went into the Clark Fork River near Plains more than a week ago.
Kathy Lagard, 63, along with her 13-year-old and four-year-old grandchildren died in the June 14 crash.
Troopers say they will perform a mechanical check on the car, which includes making sure the brakes were working properly.
Investigators say the car was heading down a hill when it crossed River Road and went over an embankment.
No one in the car was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, and troopers are looking at the placement of the driver's seat, to determine who was behind the wheel at the time of the crash.
