KALISPELL- A Kalispell woman will spend two years behind bars after an infant in her care was hospitalized with a skull fracture last year.
Kimberly Butler pleaded guilty this week to a felony count of criminal endangerment.
Butler admitted in June of 2011 to dropping a seven-month-year old infant she was babysitting, and then shaking her when she began crying and screaming.
The infant sustained retinal hemorrhaging and a skull fracture from the incident. Physicians say the extent of the injuries to the infant will remain unknown until she's older and begins to develop cognitive skills.
Butler was sentenced to the Department of Corrections for 10 years, with eight suspended.
