Laurel Town Pump evacuated for bomb threat

LAUREL - The Town Pump Exxon gas station on First Avenue in Laurel was evacuated early Monday afternoon following a bomb threat.

Around 12:30 p.m., a man called the gas station and told the teller that a bomb had been place on one of the gas pumps at the station. The station manager immediately alerted the Laurel Police Department to the threat.

Upon arrival, three officers evacuated the Town Pump and the connected Lucky Lil's Casino.

Once the gas had been shut off to the station, officers searched the premises but did not find an explosive device.
The employees returned to work about 30 minutes after the initial call.

The Laurel Police Department says the threat remains under investigation.
