The thunderstorms that rolled through the area this afternoon caused several technical problems, including limited 911 service.
Just before 3:30 this afternoon there were a couple lightning strikes in the Butte area.
One reportedly struck in the uptown area and caused limited 911 service.
Century Link was called in to begin fixing the disruption in service.
Butte Silver Bow Law Enforcement used a communications website to send out an alert about the problem through text messages.
The website says that one 911 line is operating.
Administrative lines are also out of service.
Another message will be sent out when service is restored.
