Cody Little, 25, appeared in a packed district courtroom on Tuesday morning.
Little appeared before Judge Holly Brown to hear the amended charges against him. One count of deliberate homicide and two counts of attempted deliberate homicide. Little pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The shootings happened in the early morning hours of Sept. 20 in the alley behind a home on North Ferguson. Larry Clayton, 24, was shot in the stomach and died shortly after at a hospital in Seattle. Another victim was not injured and the third victim was shot in the leg.
"My understanding is that he will lose that lower leg and I don't know when that will happen," said Marty Lambert, Gallatin County Attorney.
Lambert says the earliest he expects a trial is within a year due to the large amount of evidence and witness statements in the case. As far as a plea agreement, Lambert stated: "If it happens, it's going to take several months."
Little's bail remains at $1.25 million. Public defenders say they plan to ask the judge to reduce that amount in the near future.
