Jack Saxten IV is facing several felony and misdemeanor charges after reportedly brandishing a shotgun in the middle of the road and then leading peace officers on a high-speed chase that began in or near Browning and ended near West Glacier.

Glacier County Sheriff's Office received a report at 11:40 a.m. on Wednesday that a man wearing a ski-mask had stopped in the middle of the road, got out of his vehicle, brandished a shotgun, and then drove away. The location of the reported incident has not yet been released.

A short after that, Glacier County Sheriff's Deputies saw the suspect's vehicle and tried to stop him, but he sped off heading west out of Browning on Highway 2.

The Montana Highway Patrol, Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, and Flathead County Sheriff's Office were then called to assist in catching the suspect, later identified as Saxten.

Authorities stopped Saxten about two miles east of West Glacier by using a tire-deflating device (stop strip).

Saxten was then taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in the Glacier County Detention Center.
