BILLINGS - A man died on Tuesday morning after being hit by a train at the 27th Street crossing in downtown Billings.
Billings Police Sergeant Ronda Fox says with the Billings Police Department, several witnesses reported similar accounts, saying it looked like the man was trying to take his own life.
The man, who appeared to be in his 20s or 30s, was pronounced dead on scene.
Both directions of railroad traffic are shut down, as well as one of the northbound lanes on 27th Street.
Montana Rail Link and the Billings Police Department are investigating the incident.
