BUTTE - The Butte Silver Bow coroner has released the name of a Whitehall man that died at the scene of a fatal car crash near Ramsay.
Roderick Williamson, 65, died from blunt force trauma to the head and chest after his Ford pickup collided with a semi truck.
The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. Friday in the eastbound lane near mile marker 214, according to Montana Highway Patrol.
Williamson clipped the front end of a semi while passing. His truck turned sideways in front of the semi. Both vehicles went off the right side of the road and traveled 200 yards through a guard rail.
Williamson's pickup rolled one and a half times and became wedged between the ground and front bumper of the semi.
Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Williamson was from Whitehall but was living in Washington State at the time of the crash.
