BILLINGS- A Billings man was pulled from the Yellowstone River on Sunday evening when his flotation device snagged.
The man's friends, who were also floating, called in shortly before 7 p.m. to report that the 25-year-old man was stuck in the river and needed to be rescued, according to the Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office.
The group had tied several rafts together, but over the course of the float, one of them became separated and snagged just south of the Blaine Mobile Home Court off of Jellison Road.
Since the man was not wearing a life jacket, he decided not to swim to shore, prompting the rescue.
Crews from the Billings Fire Department and Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office responded to the river and successfully launched a boat to rescue the man.
